2005 Dyno results

Hey guys
Just got back from the dyno. Pretty happy with my final results, 235whp and 240ft-lbs torque.
I have a 2005 mt6 coupe, 5/16th basic, mrev2, z tube, k/n, 255/35/19 bfg's on the backand, and apexi neo. The reason i got the dyno was to tune the neo. He was able to add 3 hp but 11 ft lbs of torque which i was stoked about.
I had it done at projekt 7 tuning in Daytona Beach by Travis.
Over all pretty happy. We did have trouble getting a clean tach signal on the dyno which he said makes it hard to get an accurate reading.
Do other with similar cars/ set ups have same result?

I'll posts pics and clips later. If anyone is thinking about the neo, I reccommend it. It added some torque, cleaned up my mixture and smoothed out the power curve.

These numbers mean nothing unless you tell us the type of dyno.

Either way, these numbers seem low.

But most importantly, do you have a baseline for stock?

I just dont see the point of any numbers without seeing how much it improved from stock.

Hey Clown, start your own thread. This one belongs to Griffe!!!!

Good stuff Griffe. I love your torque #'s. That's what it's all about. This is what gives you that JUMP and not hp #'s. I bet if you add a nice Catback and some HFC, you'll improve these numbers even more! Now keep modding!!!

what people tend to forget is that dyno numbers in general mean nothing... too many variables will give different readings to different dynos.

As skaterbasist indicated before and after for mods are a good use of solo dyno... for me I only gauge how my car performs compared to other cars that day on that dyno... one car on a dyno 2000 miles away on any given day could be 15hp and 15trq different than another car on a different dyno different day. But those same cars same day same dyno could be the exact same.

So for people to base anything from a solo dyno (against no other car) and/or without determining a specific mod from doing before and after... I hate to tell you, but your numbers really don’t mean anything. They definitely are not a true indicator of actual HP or Trq

Agreed. It would have been nice to have "stock" dyno number from the same dyno. Yeah numbers are nice but it's really about before and after. You get to see what improvement you gained hopefully. It gives you a general idea (number) on how you are doing. I see post where guys ask, "how did you get those numbers when I didn't and I have the same mod's". To many factors as OCG35 said. Some say bring it to the strip and see what it gain for you in the 1/4 mile. There again, you could be a little slow with a shift, maybe loose a bit of traction etc........... Just don't get hung up on the numbers. You'll sleep better too. That's it for Dr. Phil.
