Initial utec install

So, i plug it onto my ecu. I connect the tuner reg from turbo xs in line with my computer.

utec-->tuner-->computer.

Is this correct?

Also, do i start my car before or after loading a map.

does anyone have a map that might help match my set-up?
fast intentions exhaust, ur pulley set, MD 5/16 spacer, injen cai.

Lemmmmme know i am quite a noob when it comes to my utec.

is there anything that would absolutely **** up my car that i should know when it comes to the utec?

Thanks all...

I'd suggest taking the UTEC to a Tuner and let them install it.

I just went through this.
UTEC is connected to the ECU
Tuner is connected to the UTEC VIA Serial cable
you connect to both units VIA the phone cord thing on the side of the Tuner.
now if you know how to connect to the Tuner or Utec VIA hyperterminal
get connected and down load the Intake Exhaust maps from TurboXS
You need the MAP and the Parameters file.
Once in the screen for the Utec at the bottom it will give you options to get around.
Hit CTRL+U to upload a txt file from your comp.
on the menu for hyperterminal go to transfer/send TXT file.
Find you map and hit open.
It should say that it is processing the map.
do the same for the paramteres file.
that should be all you need.
I got all this info from TurboXS two days ago when they walked me though my setup.
I am currently rinning the UTEC and the TUner.
