Wow it's like 30-45 mins from me depending on traffic. The speed cameras on the 101 slow it down.

We are trying to get my exhaust done next weekend instead so if it all works out I'll at least come by to meet everyone.

I have sent a message to Shawn asking what we need to do to solidify the arragnement. It looks like all 4 of us have confirmed. I will let everyone know what I hear. Thanks.

Hey guys, for the 2003 owners, we need to confirm that your ECUs are not first generation. First generation ECUs are not reflashable. You can check by looking under the glove box on the passenger side footwell. You will have to remove the panel (it just snaps out) and look up at the ECU connector. Flashable ECUs use a black snap on connector with two main plugs. I'll try and post a picture up, but you can also see what they look like at turboxs' site

http://www.turboxs.com/more_info.php?ID=217

You can also go to the download section of their site and download the 350Z files and look at the install PDF. It shows a variety of pictures of the ECU.

If you have any other questions, feel free to call me at 310-713-6171.

Also, you can look at your build date on the car. If it was built in the latter half of 2003 you're probably safe as well, but we need to make sure, especially if you're going to have to drive a distance to get there.

I belive the 1st gen connectors are grey which would help you spot them faster too.

Help!

Can anyone help me determine if I've got a first generation ECU?

My car was manufactured in 03/03 but the harness looks black to me?

I'll be so frustrated if I've got a first gen ECU...

That looks like the same one I have which is the later model. You should be good to go.

I called Xact Dyno, and it looks like it will be $600 for the facility on Saturday. They are usually closed on Saturday, but will open up shop for us. I would have to make sure everyone is confirmed to do this, and that we would have to add on an additional $150 each. So for each of us, the tune would be $600 + $150 Dyno Shop Time = $750

Please let me know if everyone is ok with that.

ALSO, let me know if you guys want to layout a timeline of who will be there when. Thanks for everyone's help with this!

Looks like a newer ECU. If you like, with the battery disconnected, you can unplug the ECU harness (you have to pull the clip out on one end and then swing it down) and see if it matches up with the picture links I posted. Just keep in mind the car may idle funny for a few minutes after you plug it back in and start it up.
