Yes the MREV2 fits all cars, but it will only WORK with a REVUP model. In fact the manifold starts as an 04 model and then MD mods it. If you have a REVUP you CAN use just an 04' lower plenum and get some gains, but not as much as the modified plenum will give you.

At least, that's MY understanding.

EDIT: I stand corrected, from MD website:

When used with a 5/16" spacer on the REVUP engine, every test to date shows MREV 2 Manifold will add a "minimum" of 15+ HP and 18+ TQ at 4500 RPM. MREV 2 Manifold is easily the single most effective bolt on modification available for the REVUP VQ engine.

When used with on the non-REVUP engine, the gains are very similar to that of the 5/16" spacer but the MREV 2 Manifold will show a slightly lower peak value, with a slightly higher average value and a slightly higher TQ value. Overall, MREV 2 Manifold provides "area under the curve" and is the highest gain plenum mod available

butt dyno- can you feel 10whp?
I'm going to install the spacer this week, curious if I should be excited to feel any difference?

Nice thing about the MotorDyne stuff is that they provided a ton of midrange torque and this is the type of power you feel most with the butt dyno, because it produces much quicker throttle response at the speeds we generally cruise around at on the streets.

a/f maps - I'm actually sending all the data from the dyno to Tony at MotorDyne so he can do a full analysis for us. I'll post up his report once I've had a chance to get him the data and he's had a chance to analyze it for us.

Based upon the description from Motordyne quoted above it seems that for the cost, it might not really be worth doing MREV 2 on a non Revup VQ such as my own. They seem to say that while I will gain some area under the curve, the gains above and beyond what I already see from my spacer won't be much.

very true... cost/benefit isn’t great... but when you've picked all the low hanging fruit, it is an option for a bit more power…

I'd rather put my money towards my Osiris tune...

Excellent review Dave. The MREV2 just keeps on proving itself test after test. The spacer is also very consistent, though the curve of the MREV2 is much more under the midrange powercurve.

It seems to be true that with the MREV2, you will lose a bit in the top end. But the spacer itself "cancels" out any of the loss of top-end power from the MREV2.

I hope im not asking for too much, but can you post a graph of your stock baseline with the latest dyno you have? (Stock vs Intake, Exhaust, Spacer, MREV2).

Thanks Dave

PS. Got any AFR graphs?

.

a tune is part of the low hanging fruit... I'm talking about when you have done all the basic stuff (and a tune is part of the basics)... then a modified lower collector is a nominal purchase for slightly more performance...

You know the routine... there is never an end... I'm now planning torque converter and valve body (2-3K) - and cams & headers (4K+ with install)...

So my only point was that before you get costly items it is something to consider. Most certainly not before all the easy stuff/typical stuff.
