Blazt-II with Nissan DataScan
So I've been using my Blazt-II with Nissan Datascan for about a week now. There was some mystery when I bought it because the US vender had never sold one for an Infiniti G35, but he did know it worked for all Nissan 350Z and the New Zealand site said it worked on the Skyline 350GT, so we took the chance and it worked like normal.
I'm not gonna claim this thing works better or does more than the Up-Rev Cipher setup, but it is considerably lower priced at $135 for the cable and software.
So what did I get exactly, a USB-OBDII interface cable and the full version of Nissan Datascan-II. The instructions honestly leave a lot to be desired, but once you get everything linked up and installed correctly the actual software and everything else is pretty intuitive. There is also a support forum on the blazt.biz site that answers most questions. It works with the assistance of a Mac or Windows notebook.
With the software I am able to do datalog and view datalogs. I can adjust timing, idle, monitor O2 sensors, I can do individual cylinder power test (i.e. turn off individual cylinders) and I can do simple engine error code reading and clearing. There might be more, but I haven't explored it all yet.
There's also a nice guage display option you can run live, but of course its hard to look at a PC screen while you are driving by yourself. I dont have a trick ICE system, but I would think if you did, you could tap your PC into your cars monitor for a more focused vantage point.
For the $135-shipped, I can't complain. I'm not at the point with my car where I need the Osiris UpRev, so for those looking for a simple yet effective method of monitoring their car and the ability to make small changes I think this Blazt-II system can't be beat with this price.

Also in addition to working on most to near all USDM nissans with OBD-II, it will work on some other cars as well so long as they follow these OBD-II protocols: KWP2000, ISO9141 protocols and some BR type (some BMWs, some Bentleys, some GM, Hyundai, Merc, Subaru, some suzuki). It will not work on stand alone ecu's, but it will work on chipped or flashed units.
If you want one for the same deal, you can get them from this guy:

I found him on twinturbo.net and he even offers package discounts if you want to get the OBDI software and cable with the OBD-II setup.

you can data log diagnose and make timing and idle adjustments...it does more than a typical code reader and a little less than the tuners, cost about the same as other code readers at $135...its a good bargain if you're not tuning.

my fault there, didnt realize there was a difference in all of the UpRev stuff (been awhile since I looked at them)...so its about half the price as the UpRv-Cipher combo which list for $300. The Blazt also does not do any of the BCM functions like window and lock testing etc.
I use Cipher and have Osiris - obviously a fan of UpRev... but this Blatz unit looks very good! If I didn’t already have Cipher, I'd probably get it.
I read about it a while back in Nissan Sport Mag and it perked my interest then... seems like a great alternative to Cipher.
