Looking for a tune

I have finally saved up the money for a tune from uprev and i was looking to get some feedback from people who have used it and posibly get any regrets they may have had after purchasing it. or maybe get some new ideas on a better way to spend $700.

Do it.

Best reflash service out there for a naturally aspirated bolt on VQ35. You can check out my thread about my results if you'd like. If have you a local certified UpRev tuner, I suggest a dyno tune. If not, im sure the guys at UpRev can get you close enough to the precision of a dyno tune if you data log some info for the via the Cipher.

save your money. 700$ will feel completely wasted 2 weeks after your NA retune. save for some coilovers or something else.

Why would you not recommend a tune for someone who has full bolt ons? It would be disappointing for someone to go that far in NA and not get a tune. It was the best NA mod I did to my engine.

ok so i decided to not go with the $700 standard and have opted for the local uprev distributor's $400 osiris dyno tune. that comes with 3 dyno pulls, a professional tuning it, and the three maps on the cruise control. Is this the better deal over the $700 program?

It's essentially the same deal because you won't get Cipher. Cipher is the datalogging tool that Uprev sells for $300.

Actually, since you get tuning AND 3 dyno pulls then that's one hell of a deal. I do suggest buying Cipher though at some point, it's a great tool.

EDIT: BTW, I love my Osiris and Cipher...forgot to mention that. I haven't gone back to the dyno after my first e-tune, but I'm doing that soon.

Are you sure its $400? If so that's a steal because most UpRev certified tuners charge at least $600 for a dyno tune (Osiris license + labor for the tune).

that's exactly why I said it was a good deal. Osiris alone is $400.

OP, better check with your tuner again. I doubt he's going to give you free dyno time and tuning for this.

you can clear trouble codes, and make sure your engine is running correctly. Its a very useful tool.

That's how you learn, you have to start somewhere. There really isn't anything Cipher can do that will mess up your engine. You can log just about every engine parameter possible and understand what is going on when you are at cruise or WOT. And as posted earlier, you can retrieve trouble codes and clear them without going to the dealer. If you don't think you will use it then don't get it, but the Osiris reflash is great.

ok so I really dont think im gunna use cipher after i get a tune which is part of the reason im leaning away from buying the entire program becasue all the other mods i do to the car would be things like suspension and pulleys. just little stuff that wouldnt really throw off any of the engine parameters
