You can buy them from the Pro Tuners, or directly from our website. You can tune a forced induction car without it, as long as the stock MAF can read the air flow without maxing it's voltage. Usually that happens between 375 and 425hp, or in that area.

Why are people still buying them? I am not sure, theres alot of misinformation out there, and a ton of people that just don't know much about how this stuff works. It's like magic to some people and it's easier for the average consumer to wrap their head around things when they see someone else did it, no matter if it was right or wrong, they know someone else did it.

Same reason why people put long tube cold air intakes on their cars still. Long after the facts are out on the subject, there is still plenty of marketing and hype out there so people still do it.

I just maybe un-installing the Haltech and buying one of these . The stock ECU seems to control everything much better anyway

Hey UpRev,

So I just wanted to double check. Is the Standard available for the 2007 sedan. I don't live near a tuner for this. THanks.

Which unless he's replacing the stock Knock sensor won't matter anyway. All these people using the stock knock sensor above 5000rpm just because their EMS allows for it don't realize the reason why Nissan doesn't use it above 5k is because it's not reliable.

So thats really a non-issue unless you're purchasing a $300+ aftermarket Knock sensor with proper DSP settings designed around the VQ motor.

$224 and it's available through our website or any of our Pro Tuners. You will need Osiris as it is the only software out there to recalibrate for the MAF, so generally most people buy them directly from the Pro Tuner when they bring the car in to be dyno tuned.

Uprev,

If i were to get a wide band O2 sensor from Bosch for my 03 G35C, will the tune be better? I noticed that the AFR below 3500rpm is very lean and that it coincides directly with what i feel driving (while accelerating smoothly the car suddenly picks up power past 3500rpm). And if i do need to buy the sensors, do i need to get all four (2 header sensors, 2 downpipe sensors)?

Thanks!

You can't just plug O2 sensors into the system. it was not designed for it. Nissan changed that in mid 04 model year. The 04.5 and newer cars have a slightly different ECU, wiring harness, etc. The only way to change the AFR down low like that is in the tune itself.

I see. I know that when they tuned my car they had a wide band O2 sensor at the exhaust tip, which was used to read the O2 levels. What I am wondering is whether or not the narrow band O2 sensors that are inside of my headers and cats affecting the performance at all. If it is, I guess they can disable it through cipher but is that the best route?

Here is the AFR graph.

Thanks

The narrowband O2 is pretty much just a catalytic efficiency detector. Makes sure your cats are working. If they are dead or starting to fail it'll throw an emissions code so you will take it in and get it fixed. Thats about all they are there for.

Is the reason why my AFR is really high at the lower RPM range because of the tune, or is this normal for an 03?
