Years ago when published HP didn't mean alot and longevity was the main concern, Nissan engines were built tight [rings and bearings] so that 100k was just getting broken in. Today a loosey goosey engine [rings not bearings] may be worn early and use oil.
I still daily drive my 322,620 mile 1990 Q45. Forsure the cold compression has fallen progressively after 150k but after it is warm it acts brand new and the quarter mile has not changed more than a few tenths [14.8 at 35k, 15.0 last winter].
The point is to make sure engine and oil is hot when measuring compression! You can do a cold vs hot to compare.
