133,000 Miles 253whp 200tq

Hey guys my car has a lil over 133,000 miles and wanted to get it dynoed at the local performance shop. Which is Jannetty racing in waterbury ct. It is a superflow dyne really nice. My mods are, Hks exhaust, crawford catz, 5/16 iso motordyne plenum spacer, stillen intake tube, 06 airbox, k&n. I know no one has dynoed on a dyno like this but im happy. Its a 03 6spd by the way, so it goes to show that high mile cars still have some power. Now i think the dyno red wrong but at 7,200 i pulled 253.0. But i thought the 03 redline was 6800 and rev limiter at like 7k. The dyno went up to 7,550 maybe it wasnt calibrated right, but can someone clarify that for me. I pulled 200.2 tq at 5,650. Next on the list is custom tune it with uprev, and prob port out the lower plenum. Then thats really it maybe headers but not sure yet if its worth it. IM just curious on the rev limiter thing can someone help me out on that, but i was happy. Just to compare my friend has an 03 gt, with no cats, flowmaster exhaust, bigger throttle body, cai, mass air flow sensor, and tuned on the same dynoed pulled 254hp and like 280tq, so 1 hp less im happy. Enjoy

TQ is very, very low. Generally a stock 03 will put down at a minimum 230wtq. Sounds to me like you should perhaps try a different dyno. Superflows are notorious for reading on the higher side, but all dynos are calibrated/set-up differently.

The tq started goin down at like 5800, is that too early for the tq curve to go down

It can be any number of things, but I am going to lean towards potential default in the dyno calibration itself. Your hp is perfectly within reason, but the tq is abnormally low to say the least. Since you have already noted the problem with rpm readings......I am going to go with faulty dyno calibration.

The ignition coil pickup for the dyno was incorrectly clipped on and was reading the rpms incorrectly...that would explain everything, from the low torque to the high redline. Stock redline is 6,600. When you go to the dyno make sure idle rpms on the dyno are identical to your tach and that redline doesn't exceed stock preset.

Correct, but it also means the HP is wrong because the dyno needs proper torque readings to get proper hp readings. Inertia dyno's ( like Dynojets ) do not have this problem.

I would be currious just to see after that many miles what the compression is like.

how exactly is a compression test done?

I have 142K miles on my car now and I'd like to test it out.

in brief ,you would pull the spark plugs one at a time screw in a compression tester, spin motor over without starting(remove all sparkplug wires)take three readings ,average them and compare to what stock is.There normally are 3 numbers(low, mid, high) and you should fall into these 3 figures.
