I tuned at a place called DL Motorsports.

I'm pretty sure the first thing we did was determine where WOT was and where idle was with the gas pedal.

Nope...only ecu reprogramming can do that as far as I know.

My TPS wire is intercepted so the signal goes through the greddy not the ECU

The signal yes, but the greddy doesn't control the throttle body, it just gets the signal from it.

here's the best write up for the greddy black, this is the guy who did the install of the blue on my car

http://www.vqpower.com/v2/articles.php?article_id=26

I'm pretty sure my car the throttle is open at 100% or the tuner would have mentioned it to me. He notices little things like that. But I will confirm with some data logging

I'm pretty sure that your throttle is determined by the ECU, not the Greddy. Which means that you would almost certainly need a reflash of the ECU. www.technosquare.com They paid someone who did a lot of work to crack the ECU

According to what I could dig up on the 03 maxima ECU... The obd2 port reports that the throttle starts to close up, but the TPS seems to differ. Read the above thread.

Conclusions from the all motor gurus at maxima.org...
so the throttle is open 100% at WOT if you measure it directly, but shows closing through the OBD2 port

took a couple of hours or so to install the blue on my car. But the cool thing is I can upgrade to the black by adding a few more wires on the harness from the black.

this is the ssim I did for my 3.5 swaped 97 maxima, I was using a jwt ecu with advanced timing, a/f corrections and a 7200rpm rev limiter and vafc2 for fine tuning the a/f but sold the vafc2 cause the jwt ecu is on point did not need it

btw jime is using a utec to control timing, knock, rev limit and a/f. but if your looking for something cheap I would not get a safc2/vafc2 cause a e-blue can be had for the same price of my350z or craigslist around 150-200 and just splice it in

and as for going back to stock solder in male to female connector when installing the blue

Your intake manifolds are much different from ours. SSIM isn't used on the G i believe.

I dont even know what the VIAS is... I think its cuz you guys have such a different intake.

You shouldn't need to use a timing light to view the timing, your e-manage should give you some nice reports if you hook it to a PC. I am assuming the blue works like the Ultimate in that respect. The reports I get from the Ultimate are great - specially if you hook in a wideband sensor. You can then tune yourself.

I didnt use a light. I took it to UMS to have Tony tune it for me. He's the guy who tuned Tim Tranks car.

The 2003's dont have a wideband O2. At some point I might get one, but I dont need one right now. The EMB uses a proprietary USB cable as well, not the same as the EMU unfortunately. The good thing is that if I upgrade to EMU I only have to add a few other wires and its installed.

How long have you had your Greddy TT with the EMU? I've heard a lot of bad things about the eManage for FI cars.
