debating when to get a dyno

debating when to get a dyno
i'm still debating between when i should go in for a dyno.
Most people here, just go in when it all said and done. and dont know what power each part made.
I'm bone stock g35x right now. I called a couple of AWD dynos around me. One is a uprev tuner (GRD), PnL motorsports that does a lot of subarus and the other is the famous AMS shop that does evo's
I was quoted $150 at GRD, they have a dynapack, the ones that measure at the hub. PnL wanted $110 no idea what type of AWD they have and then AMS wanted $85 + 25 for wideband.
These quotes are all baseline pulls. no tunes or anything. Now my debate is should i get a bone stock baseline and then start modding, or get a dyno when its time to get my up-rev software like everyone else.
Getting a baseline at places other then GRD would be somewhat pointless since you cant properly compare 2 diffrent dynos. So i see it somewhat as a waste of money. Only thing i gain from it is a number in my head and that if my car is running right. Normally i would just go ahead an do it but $150 for a baseline at GRD is a little pricey and $150 can help me be on my way in mods.
Let me know what you guys think...
My mods that i plan aren't super but in the end i wanted to confirm the gains, 5/16 spacer, HFC, up-rev tuning, headers, maybe stillen gen 2 exhaust or the motordyne sedan exhaust with a XYZ if we can confirm it fits on the X and then maybe a cam to pair up with the header. The cam is most likely a no-go since i haven't read enough good things about it.
If those mods aren't going to keep me happy it will either be another car or vortech. But thats about 2-3 years from now.
So should i get a bone stock baseline for $150 or use that for mods...

You won't get a lot of mods for $150. Having a reference for where you started working on the car could be useful and fun to have for years in the future. I say - spend the bucks for the baseline tune.

Yea $150 wont really get me any mods that i listed, well maybe used but still $150 can help me save up for something. Or 3 weeks worth of gas rather then getting a number.

i called up trying to throw other shop's numbers at him and he seem pretty firm but gave me this deal.

I was fishing around a lot of other boards and haven't found anyone serious about it.

Find a shop that is going to be able to support what your end goals to tune with are...if you are gonna tune with Cobb AccessPORT, UTEC, Osiris, eManage, etc.
That way you will use the same dyno and the date translates. Each dyno is different so you want to use the same one for whatever you do.

that what i was saying, GRD is a shop that supports osiris flash. And thats the main reason why i'm looking at them even tho they are the highest $$$. But least with that dyno i'll be comparing apples to apples.

Then go with them. I would tell them that you plan on doing future business with them if they are willing to lower the baseline pull. Tell them you want an osiris tune in the future and will be making other dyno pulls. See if that gets them to drop the pants a little.
