dyno before and after

just got back from the dyno . gained max 18 tq and 23 max hp . average tq up 14 and hp 14 . the average numbers are great and new numbers never droped below the old , gains all the way from 2500-6800. the mods for both runs were cobb intake , kn drop in , stock air box , hks cat back , berk high flow cats . then all i did was add the nonrevup lower plenum with some machining and to the front some minor polishing and motordyne's 5/16 spacer . i even drove around for two days with the intake to see if the computer would start tuning it out and after two days the gains are still there .
just another confirmation that motordyne sells a great set up

looks like ii figured it out . that was best run to best run . they were only 1-2 hp different anyway . and unfortunatly i had my 285-35-19 discustingly over-weight wheels and tires on.

avg 14 hp increase is nice. That should knock well over a tenth of a second off your 1/4 mile time. How much did you spend on all your mods plus the tune?

Not bad, some decent gains

You should get a different airbox, or replace it with a cone filter

I have a 2004 sedan 6mt with stillen intake (filter, airbox, and tube), kinetix high flow cat's, and a custom dual piping cat back and I put down 250 hp and 222 tq

to answer thetick's question . i am untuned . i wanted to get a base line first and my programer is on back order . i made the intake myself and bought the spacer and everything else at the usual prices . i cant put a number down or my wife might see it .

SkyWay .... i would never compare different dyno's and different cars on different dyno's to each other . like i said i had my 285-35-19 tires on and my rims are way over weight . there are way too many factors that can change the numbers . thats why i did a before and after so i could see the gains . did you do a before and after ? i also like the stock air box it seals well and can flow enough air . i just changed to a cobb maf hose to stay away from heat soak and increase the flow there . i also did some work on the inlet of the upper plenum .

True, there are a lot of variables when dyno'ing your car. Your wheels could have a lot to do with it as well, when I dyno'ed my car I had a set of 17" kosei's (very light) so that could be a major factor.

I bought my car with the intake and cat back and dyno'd it shortly after I got it, so I guess you could say that was my baseline. Since then I have added Kinetix HFC's and have yet to dyno.

I was just giving you an idea of some rough numbers on a car with similar mods, in no way did I mean to compare the two. I was simply showing you that your numbers aren't bad for what you have done.

same here . i was just pionting out the obivious for others that follow along . you put down nice numbers . i cant wait to tune now to see whats left to gain with these mods . i did pick up some light 17's so i might do one more base line same day changing from 19's to 17's on the dyno . the 17's are 8% smaller in diameter and lighter . i'll post when i get it done . i have to wait 3-4 weeks for the tuner to come in off back order and i'm going to germany for buisnees for a week .
