Nitrous? Anybody boosting?

I have never owned a car with nitrous. Actually, I always viewed nitrous as cheating. However, I am considering putting a nitrous kit on my 2003.0 sedan.

Has anybody put a nitrous kit on these cars? How do they respond? Are you happy with the results? Any issues that I need to be aware?

I only know of one that put Nitrous on his car. I think it 04 or 05. He likes it a lot. I got to ride in it and it was really fast and quick to respond. I think he is putting out very close to 400 to the wheels. but i like it and i might go towards that road.

I will keep everyone posted on the results.

Yeah, maybe I'll check with the 350z guys. But none of them will have my 03 ecu issue. I really wanted feedback from another 03 g35 sedan with the stock crappy ecu given the lack of tuning capabilities.

NOS wet system.

Your ECU won't give you any issues.

I have 2 friends (2004 coupe 6mt, 2006 coupe 5at) with G's and nitrous. the 6MT went through over 20 bottles on a 100 shot with no problems. They are both fast. The 6MT guy used to beat up on C5 corvettes, never found a C6 that would race him though. Had a guy with a Mazda speed 3 go buy a new car cuz he couldn't beat him. LOL

set your RPM window between 3800-6200

You don't want the nitrous spraying before the engine starts breathing. It will be too much of a torque shock to the engine.

You should consider getting a WIDEBAND 02 sensor so you can monitor your A/F ratios. This way you can adjust your jets. Also, don't go more than 100 shot without pulling timing. It would be smart to pull 2* on a 100 shot if you have a piggy back.

I bought a nitrous kit a while back...never installed it cuz i started a company but I was very close. I had all the extras set up and ready to go but didnt want to have to drop any money fixing my car if it became essential.

WOW!!! Holy Shizitz!! Best time I've had with my clothes on!!! Okay, so maybe I boosted naked for a little while, couldn't help myself . . . but I digress.

I was just out playing around and getting used to the NOS- frickin awesome!! No other mod I have ever done on any car has yielded as much instant usable hp- biggest bang for the buck ever!! Not even close. Only a 75 shot!!! Haven't used it in first gear yet, kinda scared to really- banged redline (hit rev limiter) in Drive (2nd gear)-- I just blew past redline and hit the rev limiter- what's up with that? Should I do an ECU reset? Will that help raise my shift point in D? I don't think I banged the limiter when I "launched" it in MM4 and it shifted right at redline at WOT. Maybe I lifted, dunno- more testing to come.

I'm going racing this Wed night- prolly in my biga$$ heavy 20's - so I still look sexy. The car looked pitiful running those little lightweight 16's. I'll do a couple of runs w/o boost to compare apples to apples and the improvement from the NOS. I foresee traction as being a problem. . . in 3rd gear at 4500 rpm!!! that makes me smile.

Gonna get a tranny cooler and push it to 375whp.

I foresee a new tranny coming... I had nos about 10 yrs ago on a nodded Tacoma. Motor ran strong until I sold it. Went thru about 20 bottles. The clutch was the first to go, then the synchros..

But that tranny probably wasn't built to take the added hp. And the clutch- well that just comes with the territory. Most people FU with NOS by pumping out more hp than the engine and tranny can handle. Sounds like you were dancing on the razor's edge. I'm looking to stay -25hp from 400hp- the generally recognized safe upper limit for the engine. I'll get an oil cooler to help the tranny situation for now.

I literally did a tranny drain, open, clean and fill 500 miles ago. My timing sucks!!

That's why I told you to get a VB upgrade!

Be careful, you don't wanna blow anything!

*shakes head at the 20s*
