I would pick or choose right now. The stroker kit is going to be about the same price as boosting you car. You need to look at pro's and con's to both setups. With the stroker you need someone with experience to do a build and rebore the engine. Each has its own special perks.

You better hope that Kinetix is a Velocity and not an SSV!

you can tune them to run anything... as long as the tune is setup for what you run then there is no problem, but you lose power because of timing and knock and all that.

Im looking at the Uprev, but currently using a unichip since its cheaper and they can reflash for 25 dollars and make a map for the mods you have.
Im really interested in getting a tune. Can you tell us more about this unichip?

The Unichip was just a bandaid until i can get the Uprev. Thats the one i would really go with, but i couldnt pass up the price i paid for the uni. I will get you back review later its getting flashed right now. The only thing i dont like is there arent many tuners with the software to work with it.

I'm a newb at tuning as well. But if UpRev sends me a custom map, for my list of mods, is that used instead of dynoing the car? If so would that be any cheaper than dnyoing and how would you upload it to the car. Would I still need to go to a tuner shop to do that? With the Cobb I read you could grab some type of info off of the ecu (after you flashed their tune) and then send it to Cobb with the list of mods you have and they will create a map for you. I think I read that in their forums for our cars. I almost had one for $200 but it was for a 350z which doesn't fit our car.

Its just like the Uni. You send in a list for your set of mods. You dont need to take the car to a tuner, but its not going to be pushed to full potential. The airflow could be a little off and such.

Dont know about the COBB, but everything i have read is that they are steering clear of G35's. Not the type of thing i would like to hear from a tuner when they only sold their accessport for what like a little less then two years.

Do you get a handheld tuner like the Cobb when you get it dyno'ed through UpRev? Or do you pay them to upload it and have to go back to them to upload other maps?

Thats going to be a guy with uprevs answer, but i believe you can buy an adapter cable which allows the chip to be uploaded on your computer and then you can upload custom maps from there.

Well I just installed the Bullydog Tripledog programmer and I love it. Many people on this forum don't care to much for it but have never used it. It cost around $350 and has the stock tune, 87 octane tune, and 91 octane performance tune. You also have the capabilities to monitor all your parameters of your vehicle as you drive. It also comes with a driving coach that tells you when your driving at your best. It grades you from A to F on your driving. I average 29mpg at 65mph for the first time. No i haven't dynoed my car but I know there is a legitimate gain in hp/trq. My cars 0-60 time is better, 1/4 mile time is better and my top speed is higher. It pulls hard through all the gears and my throttle response is more crisp and instantanious. But you will have to make your on choice in what you want because everyone has there own opinion about aftermarket products....hope this helped you.

When you get the tune through an UpRev protuner you get a choice of 5 maps, which you can switch through on the fly using the cruise control buttons. You don't get the cipher cable to connect to your laptop, but you can purchase it seperately. If you buy directly through UpRev you get a cable, but no dyno tuning.

I have the CObb accesport for my 03 6mt G35 and its been 2 wonderful years let me give you my review and the pros and cons before bashing any other tuning method;

U have the handheld controller, obd2 dongle and usb to mini usb cable.
The handheld comes with 5 maps loaded not 3 , its got the stage1 , 2 and 2+, valet and antitheft. WHat I really like about the cobb unit is the ability now to just bypass the handheld and use your pc to directly tune , datalog and reflash the car. Its like an OEM ECU on steroids. I think the uprev reflash is good and all but having the advantage to just flash an antitheft map and be at peace works when you are going to leave the car unattended. Also the race version is very useful and very easy. You can integrate the wideband LC-1 AEM PLX etc to your log at the same time which is handy and I belive uprev does not have.

My opinion, if you are just getting some bolt ons try the uprev cheapest solution and get it tuned specifically for your car. In the long run I would get the cobb just because of the race tuning software and it is a great way to learn to tune and do diagnostics on the engine codes plus their forums is very responsive and their software engineers respond quickly to any threads you start.

With uprev, can you clear your ECU if you have to take it to the dealership?
