Which tuning device works

I'm new to the g world and I dont really know much about the ecu tuning aspect of the car and which one to use. What is the most popular one to use and which one would you prefer; the cobbsport tuner or complete standalone. As of right now the car will be running full bolt ons but future use Intended for boosted applications.

I just ordered a Cobb AccessPort Tuner. I've read a lot a positive reviews about it. A lot of G/Z owners said it was the best mod they purchased for their car. I believe it works best for NA cars though. It has been discontinued for the G though, so get it while you can.

im wondering if the tunes it comes with are that good. ive seen a bunch of fi cars get big gains from tunes because you can usually up the boost and rev them out, but these engines have pretty well made setups from the factory. its almost always better to get a custom tune on a dyno, and its about the same money

The Cobb also comes with 3 pretune maps. You can also download more maps online, or a professional tuner can create a map for you. The only benefit of a hand held tuning device is that you can change the tune or remove a tune in about 5 minutes. The Cobb also serves as a OBD II diagnostic tool and can monitor your car's performance to a certain accuracy.

It takes literally 1 second to change maps with Osiris. Obviously dyno tuning would be best, but they do offer e-tunes. You send them a list of your mods, and they send you a tune based on them.

Well that link lists the cobb for $500 and it's out of stock. I paid $550 for my dyno tuned Osiris. Personally, I wouldn't want a discontinued product like that. Tuners are finding more and more ways to tweak with Osiris.

Yeah the party is over for the Cobb. They didnt want the hassle of trying to mess with the g35 which speaks to the ability to tune it later.

Im looking at the Uprev, but currently using a unichip since its cheaper and they can reflash for 25 dollars and make a map for the mods you have.

Well for now I want to see what gains I can get from I/H/E/ brian crower stroker kit and stage 1 cams with the Kinetix intake manifold with a tune. If I don't like those gains then I was looking at going boosted witht the vortech kit.
