400hp g35

HI all.

I want to tune up my 2003 G35 and bump it up to around 400hp.

What would be the right way of doing it?

All suggestions will be appreciated.

TKS.

What have you done to it already? And if it's stock/daily driver this might not be the thing for you.

Thanks for responding. It is all factory.

What would you recommend doing to it. The drive train is solid as is the rest of the car. I just feel it can use a little more power.

You won't reach 400 rwhp without going FI. Check out the FI section of my350z, tons of helpful info there.

As previous members said. Research is key. You'll find a lot of members who are very unknowledgeable about FI, and blow an engine or worse.

Do you want to reach 400hp to the crank or wheels? Do you understand the difference?

Thank you all. This is my first time in a forum and is great. I am a mechanical engineer who grew up around cars. Maybe I made the wrong question about what and not how. I know that I need to increase the air volume inside the cylinder and adjust the fuel and ignition accordingly. On the other, hand I have no experience with Japanese cars whatsoever. SO the question, more precisely should have been whether to go air intake-computer reprogramming-exhaust or mess with the internals of the engine (camshaft-valves-etc). I do not want a rocket just enough additional power as for to feel it while staying away from turbos and superchargers. I will research in the forum and maybe I can find a local tuner as I do not have the equipment to do-it-myself.

Even if you build your motor, get every bolt on possible and get a tune you will likely not reach 300 rwhp. For sure do some research about adding power to the VQ engine, you'll find that significant gains are made by going FI.

We are pretty tame over here, if you ask questions like this on my350z they will eat you alive...LOL. Search, search, search a ton of good info out there.

Doing FI on the cheap isn't really a good thing.
To build a good 400hp+ motor you really need to plan out the entire build and expect to spend around $25K or more to do it right so it won't blow up when you're trying to impress some hot babe.
Exhaust, SC or Turbo set up, engine internals, fuel injection, tuning electronics, suspension, water and oil cooling, wheels and tires, cool stickers and what ever else flips your switch.
To end up with a solid FI machine takes money and education.
If you don't have the money, just install a JWT Popcharger and a good exhaust system to start.
