tune VS untune
This is exactly what scares the heck out of me.. the significant and not significant numbers. I pulled a thread back alive from a member name Petoria. Hes a friend of mine that got a tune too and has basically all the same mods like me and only made 6whp overall =( that is terrible.
My car has never ever had sparks changed and has about 70,000 miles on it (2006 model). The oil is due for another change in another 1,600 miles.. The filter is still clean and only has 1,200 miles on it. Overall would it be in good state for the tune?
FYI my tune is tomorrow at Uprev at 1.
Stock box has already been reinstalled and CAI is gone!

One thing is for certain, the ECU's on these car's are finicky. Many of us note large differences in driveability between days and with no changes to the car. There's no real reason for it. Sometimes the car feels really strong and other days (same conditions), it feels really docile. I wish I knew why.
+1 on changing out those plugs. I'd be surprised if the shop doing your tune doesn't take a look at them first to see their condition. I know the guys at Intec pulled some pretty young plugs on a guy with a G or a 350 not long ago and the thing was devastated. Can make all the difference!
Also, don't be afraid to go read up on how to reset your ECU... there are a few finnicky timings involved in it... push the pedal down for this long... pump it this many times over this much time... etc... but once you get used to it it's pretty simple. One thing I liked about my old COBB (oh wherefore art though) was that I could plug it in, tell it to flash the ECU and no sooner than that I was done and off with a fresh plate.
Let us know how your tune goes!

Okay everyone, I'm here at uprev in Austin and my tuner is Omar. So far the car dynoed 258.8 on the baseline run. Not bad :T I was expecting something lower. He's tuning it right now trying different things to get the most gains possible. Wish me luck.
258whp and 236tq baseline run..
265whp & 237tq after tune..
about a 7hp difference and not a whole lot different on the torque.. I dont know how I should feel about this, but Im happy with the numbers. Didnt expect to go over 270 with my mod list.
This was all done on a dynojet

every dyno reads differently, and every tuner is different.
7whp is a good amount for these cars na.
i gained a ton on my tune but the numbers were alot lower than yours. but its also a dyno where high hp cars read really low so take it for what its worth. i wasnt even worried about the final numbers i just wanted to see what could be done about the powerband and a/f ratio

Its a 5AT. Yeah they gave me a sheet. The curve is just like my baseline but i gained most of the power at 5k rpm and up. There wasnt as much or so gain from down under 5k
if you don't mind man could u throw some pics of the graph of sometime for a more visual explanation. my power curve was a constant gain in power with max power coming around redline
Wow that is nice numbers...my 08 G35 HR 6mt(Stock) sedan was 267 on my baseline run (103 deg outside), you are blowing me away! I also noticed that's not a dynojet, maybe the numbers on that one read high
lol
