Viewing ROM files

I'm pretty new to Uprev, but I have past experience with HPTuners. I was wondering why I cannot open ROM files to view or edit without being connected to the ECU. I tried to open the file through ROMeditor whichdidnt work although it seemed to be the obvious route as well as just trying to open the file , but then the PC asks which program to use. Am I missing something here? Thanks.

Do you have the tuner edition of the Osiris License? You have to have this to view them. From there, everything to edit and analyze ROMs is available from UPREV directly.

All downloads here: https://uprev.com/support.php

I do have the Tuner version. So is it ROMeditor that you would typically use to view them?

You can only open/view/edit rom files with the rom editor. You do not need to be connected to the ECU but your cable does have to be plugged in to your PC. Sometimes the software has trouble recognizing your cable, if this happens first make sure that you only have one Uprev program open, then just unplug and plug it back in.

Ah, yes I never had the cable connected. Makes sense, the license is in the cable and not the software. I will give it a shot, thanks!

Good luck. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions. I've played around in the rom editor a bit myself
