The track day has space for "newbies" with special instruction and separate driving sessions on the track. This is a great opportunity to get on a track with your own car. It may be a one time experience for you rather than the beginning of a motorsports hobby.....but still what a great experience to have! And at a very affordable price compared to many commercially operated high performance driving schools, because most of the time and effort is being donated. Check it out.

IF you are curious, here is a link to an article at Nissan Sport Magazine, sponsored by Enkei Racing Wheels, that takes you through how to drive the auto competition course at Cal Speedway. Just download it pdf format. Although written for the intermediate to advanced HPDE driver, there are special notes for the novice/newcomer to help with his/her orientation to driving the course. In addition, there is a link you can click to watch a video going around the course, so you can get a better visual feel of the experience.

Thanks,

I suspect the answer is yes.

Just give Aaron a email @ aaron@speedventures.com to confirm
Come on out! It will be fun. Your friends who are interested in performance driving, even if it is in cars other than Nissan/Infiniti are welcome and encouraged to come. We have a couple of 335i turbocharged bimmers coming out, and it will be fun to run against them don't you think? Especially if you have the new Infiniti G37 which has been compared so favorably to it!

OK, cool! I will probably sign up for Saturday though.
I wish I have the new G37. Still drives the old reliable G35 with the same old set up.
I am going this Saturday for the SV Infield only course. Can't wait to get back to the roval again, my last roval event was way back in May.

Registration update:

For Sunday.......46 formal registrations for the HPDE track event, with 8 Nissan/Infiniti cars included in that figure. The other registrants are the typical array of Corvette Z06, Porsche, BMW (including the new turbo 335i), Ferrari, Acura NSX, Toyota Supra, etc. This is across all run groups, so there are obviously still plenty of spaces available with five weeks to go...except in low intermediate (white group) which is almost filled.

For Saturday.....29 formal registrations for the HPDE track event, with 4 Nissan/Infiniti cars included in that figure. Normally Saturday leads registrations, so the Toys 4 Tots charity drive and car show may be pulling some real attention here!

A lot of people have expressed an interest in coming to the track day experience by their posts on the various boards, but have not registered. Typically...why not? But to have this many registering this fast this far in advance is pretty amazing, so if you want to run in the newcomer group, this is a friendly wave that it is going to probably sell out, so please register sooner rather than later.

Especially when the following is posted: Every student in the newcomer group will have a ride along instructor for ALL FOUR SESSIONS on track. Why? The advanced group has had so much subscription and volunteering to support students that we have all the instructor volunteers we need to support that more personal experience. This really makes the event, for the registration fee, a great introduction experience to driving on a world class track/facility.

Update:

A major auto industry vendor (I don't have permission to reveal at this time and do not want to unintentionally create any problems) has just registered 35 spaces at the event on Sunday for the HPDE. A nifty number of the vehicles are Nissan/Infiniti. And there will be a couple of race cars.

Things to know:
-> Registration for the car show closes this week on Friday 11/16.

-> Categories have been updated, including ROVAL Time Attack and Autocross. Don't forget the 6' trophy for the team or individual bringing the most toys to donate. There is also a Best Holiday Display for INDIVIDUAL and for TEAM. The TEAM SPIRIT award is still up for grabs (most registered participants). We currently have a 3-way tie of 6....so grab your buddies!

-> We were forced to cancel the Carl's Jr. Star Diner because the food concessions at Cali Speedway raised their "buy-out" fee to an un-holy price...those who paid for their combos may either have a refund, or eat with the staff. We'll be sending them an email, or they can tell us their preference at marketing@teamtransport.org. For everyone else, we recommend bringing a small BBQ, or brown-bagging it. Outside food & drink is allowed - no alcohol.

-> Load-in information & schedules will be emailed approximately one week before the event. A tentative schedule is already posted on T4TCarShow.

-> We know that Paypal has been wonky. Rest assured your registrations are captured by the system, although paypal may time-out. Let us know if that happens and we can send you an invoice that will ensure payment is received.

-> The $5 discount per car for groups registering 10 or more cars at the same time is still available at check-out. If your group exceeds 10 cars (registered with your club name), but not at the same time, we will still provide the organization a rebate... however your team/club leader must contact us, as this is a manual process.

-> If you know of someone that does not have internet at the moment, but still wants to register you can input their information in registration and then abandon the payment process. We will call the registered phone # and/orwait for a check or alternate payment. Make checks/MOs payable to Team Transport, 19745 Colima Rd., #205 Rowland Heights, CA 91748.

-> For faster answers to your questions, email "marketing@teamtransport.org", or post on the T4T Q&A thread located here.

Thanks... and we look forward to a great show!
