Aftermarket Speakers/Sub/ Amps
Ok, so here is the problem that i am having and i wanted to see if any infiniti / audio experts out there can help me..
i have an 07' g35 sedan journey w/ premium package..
i ripped out all the stock speakers.. custom the front to run 6 1/2 components.. rear fit in perfectly fine..
speakers i got were MB Quartz Q Series Q216 Front and Rear
I am running a Pheonix gold RSD for my speakers and another one for my subs.
I am also running a Pheonix Gold SLD44 (Signal Line Driver Hi/Lo) which pushes out 11 volts (RMS)..
I grabbed the line from the rear because it has HIGH, LOWs, and MIDs..
Signal ---> SLD ---> AMP ---> Speakers ---> Sound =)
But it sounds really crappy.. it just sounds overall distorted and I have tried every single way to adjust it but was not able to find anything. I thought it was my speakers at first but they are top of the line MB Quartz. I checked wiring and everything and this is the same as it would be for any other car. But I dont know if i am pulling the signal wrong.
The signal from the Rear channel gives the "best" sound compared to the center or front..
Can anyone tell me why it sounds like crap? It sounds like i put in speakers/ did not amp it / and also bought really cheap speakers..

Sounds like your using the speaker level output on the factory bose amp to feed your aftermarket amps.
Thats a big no-no.
B(l)ose amps have all kinds of nasty DSP built in that mucks with the sound.
You need to take the signal before the factory amp.
If your new amp has a differential input, you can just splice the input signal to the factory amp to a pair of rcas.
If not, you can still try it anyways, as most decent amps have floating inputs.
If that doesnt work use an audio grade balanced to unbalanced transformer (balun).
Hope this gets you on the right track.
