Bluetooth & Palm Treo 700p: A Solution

http://www.palm.com/us/support/downl...te/sprint.html

This update is for Sprint users with the Palm Treo 700p. It's a maintenance release which claims to fix a bunch of stuff, including certain bluetooth issues below:

Bluetooth® wireless technology enhancements:

* Increases list of supported/compatible Bluetooth wireless carkits, including BMW and Toyota/Lexus (Denso)
* Improves overall user experience with supported Bluetooth wireless carkits and headsets (e.g. allow user to manually connect / disconnect to a Bluetooth device)
* Additional Bluetooth wireless functionality (e.g. audio routing to Bluetooth headset even when wired headset is plugged in)

I've experienced the problem that many users on this forum are having with the G35 and the Treo, where the wrong # will show up on the caller ID, etc. I'm going to install the update and see if this fixes things.

The Verizon update hasn't been released yet.

You can go to Palm's website and pick the model of phone and carrier and see what updates have been released for your phone.

I had both a Verizon 700P and a Cingular/AT&T 680 and neither worked well with my G. Sometimes they would connect just fine, and other times they would not connect at all. My favorite was when I would be talking and the Treo would just drop the connection. Yeah I am not a fan of Palm any more and I used to love their devices and phones. I think they dropped the ball some time ago and with the release of the new 'companion' Foleo they have kicked it into the sewer and it is gone forever. I just hope my new iPhone will not have any issues.
