No to both.

You can play songs from the flash card and take songs from the harddrive and put them onto the flash drive.

You can only transfer/record music to Music Box from audio CDs (not burned MP3 CDs), and only from the head unit (not from the CD changer in the trunk).

I've burned CDs and copied them to my Music Box. I have a compilation CD that I made using itunes. The only thing that was annoying is that I had to go in and manually edit the song name and artist for every track.

Were they MP3 format CDs or audio CDs? I bet they were not in MP3 format. MP3 format CDs can't be copied to Music Box.

More info on this can be found in '07+ Sedan FAQ Sticky (https://g35driver.com/forums/g35-sedan-v36-2007-08/146927-07-sedan-faqs.html) in the Audio section. Summary on Music Box functionality from that thread can be found here:

Yeah, it wasn't a data CD with mp3 files on it. But you can burn CDs from a computer with iTunes and put them into the Music Box that way. You won't get the massive amount of songs you could get if they were in the mp3 format using iTunes CD creation but at least that's one way to copy them over.

I was just saying that if you wanted to burn MP3s to a CD (using iTunes) and then transfer them to the Music Box you could do so, not necessarily disagreeing with the comments about using data cds filled with mp3s. It sounded to me (or read) that he was just looking for a way to transfer the music somehow.

I just wish there was some way to get the ID3 tags to transfer to the Music Box so you don't have to manually enter. Right now I'm stuck with "Now WHAT did I import on May 18, 2008 at 3:15am??" (Yes, I did that right after getting my car...ALL night!)
