yea, i have to do the same thing. i started using my "genre" selection a lot as there are too many artists to continually go through. i, too, don't like how it always defaults back to the main menu...

u notice the part that says ALL...i thought if you push left or right you can change it to a letter but no. unless we havent figured it out

The easiest thing to do is to use the genre (like you are), but modify the genres of the songs to be the first letter of the artist. You can bulk change these in itunes, and it will give you the desired effect.

Select genre > scroll through A-Z and # to select the letter of the artist > scroll through all the artist starting with that letter > Scroll through the albums > scroll through the songs.

Saves lots of frustration.

I'll just post it here in case anyone else needs the info.

- I set up iTunes to show all my music, then sorted it by artist.
- Highlight all artists that start with A, right click on them and select "get info".
- Click "yes" to edit multiple items
- Under Genre, change it to "A", check the box to the left of it, and hit ok.
- Repeat for letters B-Z and # (for numbers).

As long as you don't mind losing the original genres, this is the best solution I've seen so far.
