Gonna pull trigger on this audio purchase late next month/ early sept. opinions?

This is what I am looking to get. I will install myself once I get the wiring diagram etc. off of here.

JL Audio A series A1400 400watts

JL Audio PowerWedge CS11ORG-W3v3

MTX RE-Q

StreetWires 4 gauge Amp wiring kit, blue

Tsunami Lite Wave Capacitor 1.2F

JL Audio Bass Remote

Street wires 12 gauge speaker wire, 10ft

Total:$1,027.94

I was looking into JL's new amps and can't really find a big difference for the couple of hundred dollars increase. You guys know why they are better? besides the extra heat-sink.

I also was looking into the powerwedge with 2-W3v3, but from what I have read that would be too much bass, and require a 1000watt rms amp which obviously costs more too.

Opinions?

Looking at the Slash v2 500/1 v2 amp it will put out twice the watts at 4ohm's than the one listed above. Is it worth the extra $200 for another 250watts rms?

JL Audio Slash V2 500x1 monoblock class D amp

from personal experience, the JL / amps are awesome... It's easy to use (anywhere from 1.5-4 ohms will put out the same power) and puts out more power than it's rated at... I've done a lot of car audio, and it was always the amp that i suggested people to get.

yea I think I'm going to go with the slash amp for the added power and for the signal sensing input which saves me from having to run a remote wire.

yea i looked at those for a while yesterday and last night. I think the slash v2 amp might be too large for where you put yours though. I'd like to hide it and the cap. in there. then I could just have the speaker wires running to the box and take it out as I please for more cargo room.

hmmm... I just thought of a crazy idea to take out the cd changer and see if the amp will fit there. Then have the control ***** showing out the little hole for tweaking.... I dont think it will work but it might be something to look into

i thought about the same thing. but i could not get the amp to fit into the brackets for the Changer. I actually removed the changer and purchased the trunk liner for the non-changer cars. amazingly, it really gave me much more usable space in the trunk. it is easier to fit large things through the trunk opening.

Yea I am going to do the same thing during the install of this stuff. Can I get that part from Nissan? they are the only dealer in my area.

I am pretty set on this setup. with the new amp I added swapped for the old one with a total of $12XX.XX

Should be a fun project and hopefully get it done in a saturday. The hardest part is running the wires. Oh and if the amp fits making that board to put the amp on for the placement like yours stanfna.

Sounds like a nice setup. Of course a JL 10w3 will be a nice speaker as well.

I almost bought that one, but went with an Image Dynamics IDQ10v3 based on lots of online recommendations. It has an excellent SQ sound. I'm very happy with that speaker. And it was a little cheaper than a JL.

i say you're gettin the wrong amp in the 1400A...I would rather get a mono class D amp from them....one 10w3 only has 300rms so i don't know why two of them would require you to get a 1000/1 even though it wouldn't hurt to have the extra wattage...it would just be a bad idea financially because 1000/1's aren't necessarily cheap. two W3's only require a 500/1, even though 1000 wouldn't hurt...

I had 2 12w3's, but sold one of them so now I am going with a one 12w3 setup with a 250/1v2...i also say don't waste your money on a capacitor if you're only going with one 10w3...even with two you don't need a cap. do some research on capacitors, and those with a lot of audio experience say that it can actually drain more power than it can provide for those instances of heavy bass...

also, a powerwedge enclosure is pretty heavy and VERY expensive from the prices i've seen...i got my enclosure made by zonix enclosures off ebay for 170 bucks. fits flush, has 1.25 cubic ft of volume as recommended by JL. UPS tracking says the box will be here monday...will take pics for you
