2008 G35Xs Navigation is getting slower, freezing

Hi all,

I bought 2008 G35Xs in June 2008. I do not use Naviation very often. After 6 month, recently my 2008 G35Xs Navigation is getting slower, freezing 2-3 seconds from time to time. If anyone has the similar issues, please let me know.

The symptons are,
1. It is slower to acquire satellite signal and show current car location.
2 While I am driving, the map can not get refreshed in a timely manner. It looks like map is rotating or showing car is wrong place.
3. When routing, it prompts the exit and shows on the map too late when I have go beyond the exit.

I guess it could be the following reasons.
1. Parts are defects or antenna is bad.
2. Navigation computer has something wrong and cannot process signal promptly.
3. Navigation map and ripped music cd share the same hard drive. The hard drive is getting fragment and slower because I use 60 % of 10GB for music.

I am not sure if I need to get car serviced or replaced.

Just wanna make sure that you didn't have Nav Bypass.right? cause that'll delay your Nav system.

I haven't noticed any slowness. In fact, it's noticeably faster than the nav system in my '07 Ridgeline - especially boot time. However, I do notice the GPS drops out of 3D fix into 2D and sometimes drops out completely for a few seconds even on a clear, open highway. Hasn't been a problem, but the Ridgeline's GPS would hold a 3D fix constantly under these circumstances.

I did not have Nav Bypass. One thing I only suspect I ripped many CDs to hard drive ( 70% full) which may impact the Nav performance.
