AUX Jack Cable for Ipod?

Ok so I was trying to get my Ipod set up on my car the other day and noticed that the standard 3.5mm male/male audio cord would not fit in the jack under the center console. I'm assuming for some unknown reason Infiniti decided to make it a 2.5mm for some reason and I know from past experience that it is very hard to find a male/male cable that is blended with a 3.5mm end and 2.5mm on the other end. Does anyone know of a spot where I can pick one up or am I better off just getting an adapter for the 3.5mm cable I already have. Also why would Infiniti do this? Did they fix it when they changed it over to a G37?

Im confused???? are you saying you are trying to plug a headphone jack into the rca ports in the console???? you should be using an RCA Red and white connector that goes into a headphone jack like this

http://www.google.com/products/catal...tle#ps-sellers

that is ideal for the IPOD and it will allow video play when stopped too

Are there any short ones that you can recommend? I've been researching these but they seem to be ~4-6ft.

search is your friend. i just bought one off ebay for like 4 bucks. what gen is your IPOD? this one will work with all of them

http://cgi.ebay.com/AV-RCA-USB-Video-Cable-for-iPhone-3G-iPod-Touch-Nano-TV_W0QQitemZ260404517125QQcmdZViewItemQQptZPDA_Accessories?hash=item3ca1519905&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1205%7C66%3A4%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1309%7C301%3A1%7C293%3A1%7C294%3A200
Or if you just want one that goes into your headphone jack

Either way 4 feet is good, that way you can have enough slack to lay it in your lap to change songs easily while driving. i would go with the first one. the sound quality will be better.

So the first one you listed, it would just plug into all the jacks in the armrest in the 07 models? Then you just plug in your iPod?

Yep, and then select the aux option on the radio. the yellow one only needs to be plugged if you plan on watching video while stopped.

I just ordered the one that connects directly into the bottom of the IPod the other day, will see how it goes.... figured it could hurt at 5 bucks.

Thanks for the link. I just ordered one for my G too.
I was previously using the one that plugged into the headphone jack (and thus did not work with my 1st generation iPhone)

So I went and bought the nice RCA cable at Best Buy because I was reading too many horror stories about the online deals for cheap where the cable wouldn't work, or would crap out after a short period of time. So the cable I got has the docking port and a USB port. The Ipod plays the music great and has no problems however my IPOD isn't playing video through the cable. I don't know why, so does anyone have a solution? This cable should be compatible with my Gen 1 Ipod video as far as I know. I'm also guessing if the cable is just plugged into the RCA jacks my IPOD won't receive a charge, because it's not getting one currently. I guess I'll have to buy a USB input cigarette charger to.
