Question about HID's.

Hey guys,
I need to know before I order...

As memory serves me, we use 4300K HID bulbs (type: D2S specifically).

Now, I want a tad bit more blue, thus I'd go with 6000K. Is this safe to do (in terms of using the stock ballasts)? Will I melt or blow anything by installing these higher rated bulbs?

I was going to order from Prestigehid, a vendor here on the forums. Here's a link to his for thread selling HIDs. Do these look OK to put in?
https://g35driver.com/forums/exterio...9-shipped.html

Thanks guys , the G is, obviously, my first HID equipped car, rather do it right the first time.

You merely change the bulbs, and use the stock ballasts.

You don't need to install an aftermarket ballast unless your car didn't have HID's in the first place (i.e 1st gen cars).

Yeah, it's a simple D2S bulb replacement. PIAA, Raybrig, Phillips, Ichikohs, GaraX sell them. I think GaraX is a pretty good brand. I thought about changing mine on the FX, but decided it wasn't worth the money with an already nice OEM output.

I just got 6K GaraX D2S bulbs this weekend. They work great! I had some no name brand 6K bulbs that werent as bright. One died after a few months so I bought these from a local shop.

well question replacing those higher wattage bulbs, would they somehow affect the warranty on it?

^sure, if your harnesses melt or if your stock ballast goes, i'm sure they wouldn't change it under warranty.
just put back in your old bulbs before you bring it in and then you'll be alright.
