Aux input info.?
Is it true that we're not allowed to talking about bypassing the AUX input "motion sensor" on our cars?
I know someone did it when patching his Garmin into his dash screen. I just couldn't tell by the pictures he posted what he did and his private inbox is full.
So, if we're allowed to talk about the bypass idea, anyone interested in pointing me in the right direction??
anyone? bueller?
thanks.

Another consideration maybe not to bypass anything and instead tap into the screen itself (or replace with another) and swap between the display for your application and the onboard.
If you mess with the aux input lock out you may also be messing with other functions of the display unit, something to keep in mind.

Possibly the easiest and maybe the best would be the additon of a second display powered by a car computer. My intitial measurements seem to indicate that if one was to build a custom enclosure that you could actually place a display between the shifter and the bottom of the a/c controls giving up your ash tray. There are lots and lots of displays in various resolutions and there are several GPS applications such as Topo, MS, and others.
There is another option as well and that is there is a heads up display that is available for gauges and one of the features is an option for a GPS.
