ipod cable help??

For those of you with 2008 models, the Factory iPod Cable is part# 284H2-1BA0B. I posted a picture here: https://g35driver.com/forums/v36-aud...4h2-1ba0b.html.
The link above explains that although the factory cable gives you control of the iPod or iPhone (I have tested successfully with iPhone 3GS, 4, 4S), it does not support charging of your device. I solved this problem by attaching a second cable to the factory cable called the iSimpleŽ ReVolt™ (IS710). There are links and a full review in the link above.
