Install Pic's Boston Pro60se in base G35

Installed a set of Boston Acoustic Pro60se's in my base G35.
Pro's are driven by an Alpine PDX-F4 and are complimented by a JL Audio 10" W1 sub in a ported enclsore. Audio control EQX is used for line conversion/EQ/ and cross over fuctions.

Install took several weeks because I was only able to work on it a few hours each weekend. Was worth the effort..It sounds great. Way better then the Bose setup IMO.

First Pictures
1. BA Pro60 vs wimpy stock speaker (look at the tiny magnet on the stock speaker ..no wonder they sound like s**t).
2. Door panel off.
3. Non Bose have a giant spacer to make a 6" speaker fit where the Bose 10" woofer would have been.

Speaker wire

I ran heavy gauge speaker wire through the Molex connector between the body and door....what a PITA

Xover

The BA Pro crossover unit is HUGE!! I mounted it in the inner door frame. Zip tied until glue dried. I put some dyanamat in the inner door but I don't think it helps much.

Tweater

I sacrificed the stock tweeter so I could use its mounting scheme with the BA pro tweeter. I cut the stock tweet with a dremel and then stuck in the BA tweet.

6" mid/woofer

The 6" BA driver was mounted in the stock location using spacers that I painted black. I put a bead of RTV between the speaker and spacers to make a nice tight seal.
Here's the outer door shell back on with the BA 6" driver installed.

amp and sub

I didn't take any pictures of how I ran the all the wires to the amp and back.

Here's the Amp, Sub and EQ/crossover in the trunk.

I'm really happy with how this setup sounds....I highly recommend the Boston Pro's. The Alpine PDX is great too. It's tiny and puts out 100w x 4...of nice clean power.

I have the JL 10" power wedge (CP110G-W1v2) and I still have room for two roller suitcases.

I can't even imagine what a W7 would sound like. The W1 is on the low end of the JL food chain. It shakes my rear view mirror even with the bass tuned way down. I would be afraid of a W7 breaking the car apart...

Did you make or buy the spacers for the door speakers?
