i want to get a RE AUDIO SXX 12" but i am so confused on which one to get!?

http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...2-SXX12D2.html

would i need the 2ohm version or the 4 ohm to get the full 1000 watts out the amp? i thought i understood the ohms law at 1 point but then got completely lost somewhere along the way!

also if u have a better sub in mind to go along with my amp please do tell!
any help/opinions/comments much appreciated!

Its pretty simple what to get. Alpine amp is not worth it but if you want that amp and it is best rated at 1000watts @ 2ohms. You can get the D4 version of the sub which is dual 4 ohm coils. You can wire up the sub as 2 ohm and run the amp bridged. The amp will see a 2ohm load from the speaker and run at 1000w. You can find better amps that can go stable to 1 ohm and buy the D2 version. The lower the OHM/ resistance the greater the wattage the amp will push out. To a certain extent since amp might not be stable at 2 ohm, 1 ohm or .5 ohm.

How many subs are you planning on running?

If one then get the 4 ohms....connect the two coils in parallel

if two then get the 2 ohms....connect the two coils in series and the subs in parallel

(image shows 4ohms coils, 4 ohms out....but if u use 2 ohms coils output will be 2 ohms)
