Need advice on location for remote wire hookup for AMP

I just installed a sub and amp on my non bose car. I already ran the remote start wire for the amp by the car battery. Looking to connect it so that it only comes on when the car is on. I dont want it constantly on. Any suggestion as to where or what fuse near the battery? I've tried some of the fuses like Alt and radio but it keeps the amp on even when the car is turned off.

You could throw a small switch on it...

i hooked my remote wire up to the XM receiver harness in the trunk. There is a switched wire in the harness which is perfect for an amp since you only want it on when the car is on. i forget which wire it is but if you look in the shop manual it will be obvious.

I tried the violet wire on the xm radio..and i tuned just the radio and it didn't turn on the amp. Do I need to start the car in order for the xm to come on or do I have the wrong wire?? Thanks

hey sorry for the delay, i've been working 6pm to 6am the past month so i haven't been on too much. you're right that it's the violet/purple wire, upper right corner of the harness from the back. i'm using it as my amp remote so i know it works. you have to press the start button twice without the brake depressed to activate the accessories if i recall. otherwise you shouldn't have a problem.

if you have bose speakers, the actual sub in the back has its own remote turn on, i just grabbed mine off of that, if i remember correctly it is the small gray wire.
