I have a 07 G35 Sport Sedan 6MT ; I have an issue with my radio (radio with NAV). Every morning when I first start the car the radio sound goes in and out. Sometimes the sound will stay off for a couple of minutes and pop back on. When the radio goes in and out I can hear a clicking noise coming from the back of the Radio area. Does anyone know what's going on or how to rectify the problem?

If the car is still under warranty take it to the dealership. Last week my whole system froze up and i had to take it in , they had to replace the entire navigational unit

 

assuming you're not under warranty the clicking may be the fan on the back of the head unit. It could also be the hard disk failing and telling the system to go into degraded mode (if i recall the navi is hard disk based, right?). thirdly it could be the CD player moving, sticking, etc. and the head unit is looking for CD audio but not getting it. i don't believe there are any relays internal to the head unit so if there is a physical clicking coming from the unit it's likely to be one of those things.

Sadly you may need to think about getting a new head unit on ebay or something. my system reboots itself randomly so i'm looking at upgrades since i know one day it will just crap out. strongly considering wiring in a navi unit....
