Good amp to go with (1) Alpine 1000w Type R?

just bought an alpine 1000w type R sub on ebay and right now shopping for an amp, friend of mine suggested JL JX1000 but its a little more expensive than im looking for, looking for 200-300 and the JL is 430 is $390 around and my price range is like 200-250. so if anyone has this sub and just one and have an amp they really like could chime in i'd appreciate it! just trying to get the most cus im only having this one sub.

TIA for any input!

You may be able to find a Rokford Fosgate amp for that price range that'll be able to push that sub. I don't know of too many folks who have that sub anymore but it was a great sub back in the day. Where are you located? I may be able to make some suggestions on where to look.

Is it the new type R or the older model? If it's the new one, you want a high quality amp. Those things works best with clean power. I doubt that Rockford suggested would be ideal. If you are referring to the old model type R, then you can use just about any semi decent amp.
