Added Back Up Camera, Now Airbag Light is Flashing
OK, I'm now here and have a 2008 G35 Sedan Journey and added a back up camera just the other day. I cut the brake wire and grounded it to the radio, and cut the speed sensor so it works when backing up. Now today I start driving, and the airbag light is on and flashing. I had disconnected the radio and its components, but unsure if that can trigger a light. I don't recall disconnecting an airbag plug, and i know I plugged everything back in.
Does that speed sensor have anything to do with the airbags? is cutting the speed sensor wire and grounding the brake wire to the radio the right way to bypass the video while driving issue?
Thanks

The brake wire is a switch, are your brake lights on all the time now, or do they not function at all?
What is this "speed sensor wire" you're talking about, where is the location. The only speed sensors on the G35 are the wheel speed sensors and you would have a shitload more problems if you had cut any of them.

I know you can not have video in motion on the 2008, and that if you have the E brake engaged, the video can play. But if you start backing up, the speed sensor wire to the radio shuts off the Aux input. From what Ive read, you cut the grey speed sensor wire going into the radio, and ground the wire for the E brake going into the radio. The brake lights operate normally, its not connected to those.
Im adding a back up camera to a vehicle that has no back up camera.

I've seen 1-2 videos of people adding a backup camera and yeah, you have to cut (1) wire and ground a 2nd wire to get the display to turn on automatically. You basically end up emulating what is done for cars with the factory back-up camera.
Anyway, and I might be mixing this up with a different vehicle, but I remember one that talked about NOT disconnecting a connection, even with the car OFF, or it will trip a sensor. Just watched that video and yeah, sorry, I was thinking of a different car model.
