Tire wear and replacement question
Tire wear and replacement question
I just took my car in for the second oil change and at 8900k 2 tires are worn down to 3/32 and need replacement soon.
I was like
i know i kinda drive the car hard like 50% of the time when there isnt too much cali traffic to get in the way but 8900k is really short for tires imo. I never had to replace tires that often on my previous import cars (of course i never had a awesome 300+hp car either). The service rep said the stock goodyear eagle rs-a have a max life of 15k if you drive like a grandma and they offered to put 2 more on for $190.00 each.
im torn between replacing the 2 goodyear eagles (which have been fine in terms of ride..not so sure on the performance side) maybe not at the dealer if i can find a better price, or taking a gamble on either mixing 2 tires from another brand or going full steam and replacing all the tires with another brand.
Ive had yokohama tires in the past on another car and they were awesome gripping power but i know they dont last long either...I like perfomance for when i drive solo but the ride quality is also important for driving with others.
Anyone have suggestions or ideas (btw im not looking to change the stock 17s wheels just yet)?
