So they are on and I like the look, the rear is lower than I thought it would be, and the front is acceptable. Oh alomst forget I had them take the tpms off the oe's and put them in the new 19's. I guess they are working no lights. Now I just need some tint.

The gap in the front is because you are running 225-40-19s. Try 225-45-19s and it will match your stock diameter better and fill up the wheel well better as well.

 

Right now I am cool with it, I would have bought 45 but the guy at discount tire said from the data he was looking at there could be a problem with rubbing or clearing with 45's, but he said he could't be sure. I decided to sleep on it and just get the rear mounted. The front tires came with the wheels.

I might buy them and see what happens, I mean if some guy can get 22's to fit on his g I don't think I have much to worry about.

Does anybody know if lowering just the front has any negative implications? I have the exact same setup as KDG35, and I agree that the back isn't bad but the front just rides a bit too high. A 1" drop on the front just to balance it out I think would be perfect. Anybody every done just a front drop? Maybe using Z or coupe springs?

 

There's nothing wrong w/ lowering the front 1" and leaving the back stock. People will say it's unsafe b/c it upsets the handling balance, etc., but it's really not that big of a deal. Think of it this way - the ride height on the rear of your car can change by as much as 1/2" to 3/4" when you're running on either an empty or full tank of gas. It's no big deal. Or a more drastic example - you can load your trunk up w/ a bunch of stuff and the balance of the vehicle has definitely been shifted majorly to the rear, but the car isn't really "unsafe" to drive, is it?

Most of the downsides to lowering the front only applies to also lowering the car in general. They are:
1. Reduced suspension travel makes the car more susceptible to bottoming out.
2. Lower ride height which makes your front airdam more susceptible to scraping.
3. Uneven tire wear if the alignment is not corrected.
4. Lack of a front camber correction kit will prevent you from setting the proper front camber (not that big of a deal, but will cause your tires to wear out a little faster).
5. Front shocks will wear out faster due to stiffer, lower front springs.

 

They'll fit. Many people on here are running 245-40-19 and 245-35-20 up front w/ no problems at all.

If you can't find a 225-45-19 (which is a rare size), just go with 245-40-19. It'll match the stock size front tire just as well. 245-40-19 is 26.72" which is very close to the stock 225-50-18 size of 26.86".

There are a bunch of wheel size calculators, but if you want the formula, to calculate the diameter of a tire, it's:

tire width in mm x aspect ratio x 2 divided by 25.4 + rim size in inches

So, a 245-40-19 is:

245 X .40 x 2 / 25.4 + 19 = 26.72"

 

I am surprised that the tpms are working correctly, today the low pressure light came on. I figured it was a fluke but I checked and sure enough one tire was low. I filled it up and drove off and the light went out. Do most people transfer their tpms to there new wheels?

I have herd most people say that they have been told that they can not be transfered and the dealer has to reset them to work properly. What gives?

I'm running M45 wheels with 245/45-19 front and rear without drop and without rubbing even before spacers. (Spacers were used only for asthetics)

 

They were $1800 plus tax wheels and tires, included the re-calibration of the TPMS. Once I sell my stock sport wheels, I am hoping to have made the switch for around $850.

 

IMO the back tire looks huge and the front tire looks small.
