Anyone replaced there own springs?

I saw a thread for a G35 Sedan, 1st Gen, dont remember where i found it on which forum but I doubt it applies much to my car anyway. I want to install my own springs, and I saw the tutorial for the Older sedan and it didnt look to difficult, plus i have the access to all of the tools for it.

Has anyone done there own, if so, post some pics or a small guide on what exactly you did. Thanks

Hey man! I saw that Turtorial also for the Older 1st Gen Sedans! But it's not really that difficult to do yourself, as long as you are mechanicaly Inclined and have a fair amount of tools! The back is the easiest and took me barely 20 Min to remove and Install my Eibach Drop Springs for my 07 G For the Back just half to lossen one bolt for the Bottom A-Arm, closest to the Wheel side. And just bend the arm down on it's upper Pivot Point, and Remove Spring, and just reinstall after. The Front's take a little more time. you half to take out the Bolt for the Sway Bar Mount, Which also is partly Bolts to the Bottom of the Shock mount to the Arm. Then the Brake Line Braket Bolt, which hold the Lines to the Shock. and the Upper bolt from the top A-arm, Remove that Bolt closest to the Wheel. and let Brake Disc and Components drop down slowly, since therte is no Brakes Lines attached to this area, it's Ok to let it hang. then remove 3 bolts holding Stru from Under the Hood on the Shock Tower and remove. Now you will need Spring Compressors to take out Old Spring and Install new one! And When Installing the Strut back into the car, half to make sure the Top Cup that goes into the Strut tower is ALigned Correctly, I learned this the hard way. the Bottom of the Strut goes in the grove of the Bottom A-Arm, and the top 3 holes half to be perfectly line up with the holes in the Strut Tower of the car. If Not you will half to Compress the Spring again, then adjust that top Cup that goes on top of the Spring, and then Try again to mount on car.!! So remember to do this part before you Uncompress the new Spring. Or mark it somehow before removing the old Spring, so you know where to put everything with the New Spring In place! Then just reinstall everything the same way you took it out. Hope this does not confuse you, LOL. But I'll just say do the Front First, since it will take a little more time. and the back you can do in 2 Shakes! Have Fun Bro! It's worth the Work, and save you an Extra 150-200 Bucks also!

Be sure you use a safe spring compressor, wouldn't want to kill yourself, or send a spring shooting through a wall or anything.
