Brake pads still good?
How d'you check brake pads without pulling a wheel? I'm guessing my pads are getting worn, as the squeal indicator is starting to faintly sound - but is there a way to see pad thickness with the wheel still on? I tried yesterday and couldn't really tell.
Rotors look good, and it just occurred to me to check the brake fluid level and see how far it's dropped. But someone on a different thread mentioned a "hole" through which you can see pad material thickness - anyone know?
Thanks!

You should be able to see your outside pads when the wheel is in the right position. I do sometimes use flashlight it helps. They usually wear the even with the inside ones. Front wears more then the rears. If you have hard time to see it trry it at night when it is dark. The flashlight will help you.

The best way is to pull a wheel, but the post above will give you a good idea.
Another thing to look at is your brake fluid level - if you have not been topping it off (which you should not) it will be low as the pads wear down.
Again though, pulling a wheel is the only way to tell 100%.
