Winter Tires - Anywhere?

Does anyone know any good places to get winter tires?

I've tried tirerack but they are out of stock on everything unless you want to spend $250+ on wheels.

And sears doesn't carry anything either unless you want hiddeous chrome pimp rims. not to mention their tires are $80 more each then tirerack.

It's amazing how few places sell tires for this car.

I had an issue getting the $100 wheels on tirerack because they were on backorder. I luckily found a set of OEM 17" wheels. It is very common for tires to sell out by end of December. Best time to buy is in November.

I would also suggest ebay and the classified forum. Good luck

Does anyone know if you can put 225/45/18's on the front instead of the stock size of 225/50/18? seems the only tire in existance is a bridgeston LM-25 that comes in 225/45/18. and the guy at the local place said the 225/45/18's will be fine and just be a little more lower profile on the sidewalls.

What's your thoughts?

It looks like no one has any wheels, local or online... everyone is either sold out or is charging so much it's not worth it. So I'm trying to figure out the best deal on tires for the stock wheels.

No one else has had trouble getting tires? What mfg/model/size do you go with?

A lot of people with the sport and X have gone with the 225/55/17 Blizzak in either WS-50 or WS-60
