G35Xs owners tire size and brand
G35Xs owners tire size and brand
For those of you who recently picked up a G35Xs, what is the stock size tire for this car??? Is it 225-50-18's??? And are the stock tires Goodyear Eagle F1's All Seasons.
Thanks.
Thanks.
Thanks. I was just looking to see what replacement tires where available for this car down the road. I see those tires now at the Tirerack. Although the Goodyear Eagle F1's seemed to have a longer thread wear for a few dollars more per tire. There are no reviews on the Dunlop's as of today on the Tirerack. But the Goodyears have very good marks. Thanks again. I'm just a potential owner doing some research on the net on a night with no football or hockey.
Wow one response. No offense to some of the people on this board. But when I make a list of pros and cons between the G35 and the BMW 335-328 the people on the bimmer forums without a doubt are more helpful.
well the reason why there is probably no more responses is because your question was answered. You asked what size and which tire was on it and im sure all the G35xS come with the same tire regardless of location.
That's all I'm asking. Do they all come with the same Dunlops in the same size. The tire size corresponds with the Infinity website 225-50-18 But the tire brand can be different.
Tires are precisely the reason I didn't replace my Bimmer 3 series with another. No doubt, you have researched the awful ratings the stock Bimmer Turanza runflats are getting?? Please look up their stock tire's ratings on TireRack.com. That scared me away from the Bimmer big time. No spare and hundreds to replace a single tire! Most tire shops outside of large metro areas don't even stock runflats so you could really get stranded. Plus a noisy ride!
Thus, I moved to the 2008 G35 Journey. The Bimmer's runflats, plain interior and less features for far more money, and the Lexus IS 250/350's tiny rear leg room and lack of road feel handling, made the G35 the obvious choice. Three weeks in, I'm having fun.

PS-You really should be posting in the regular G35 forum area, not the new owners area. You would get more responses, too. Also, you should use the Search function where you'll find that all of your questions have been answered in great detail.

Can you please point me to the thread that answer this exact question???
Yes I'm also not thrilled with the RFT's. But some of the 3's come with Continentals RFT which are performing better than the Bridgestones.

All I wanted to know if they all coming with those same Dunlops that's all. Like I said ealier the BMW 3 series some come with the Bridgestones RFT others have the Conti's. So it's possible some G's can have Dunlops and other the Goodyears. And the Goodyears seemed to have a much higher thread rating than the Dunlops and from what I've read so far perform really well.

You are right, the Contis are better received for the Bimmer, and less money when replacing, but I don't think BMW uses them often.
Have you driven both cars? Best to trust your own tastes and instincts. Both are great cars. I miss the refinement of the Bimmer but not the overinflated price and service after the warranty period. When I got my first $110 oil change bill, I started to lose the love. . .
That's why the G35 is at the top of my list. Specially since I plan to keep my next car longer than 4 years. The oil change is expensive but from what I've read BMW states the oil change interval to be 15K miles, or twelve months, whichever occurs first. The oil is a synthetic base that is manufactured by Castrol. As opposed to the BS 3 months or every 3k miles started by some marketing people at Jiffy Lube which has caught on.
