Has anyone done their own brakes on an 07 sedan. I did a search and cannot find a DIY link for an 07
Thanks anyone

Pretty easy. 2 bolts for the caliper. Hange the caliper on a piece of wire. Remove front rotors, machine as necessary or replace. Compress caliper pistons and install new pads. Re-assemble.Done.
Coles Notes of front brake service.

I'm assuming it's the same setup on the 04 sedan. Would I be correct? Is there something that can be used instead of calipers to compress the pistons?

I keep a big bucket of that in the garage, right next to my lightbulb repair kit.

That's what a DIY does. It's only minor details that a guy like me would need to get stuff like this done. The whole point of these forums is to be able to get information because you don't have someone readily available to show you stuff or give you the information.Originally Posted by GLuXuRy

Agreed - brakes aren't hard, but if you've never done them before some kind of guide is useful. Sorry, keep waiting to do mine but the pads aren't wearing out fast enough Originally Posted by obsdnoblivion

Doing front brakes is very simple.. All you need to do is loosen two bolts and change the pads... I don't even take the rotors off as long as it's not warped..
With that said, go for it. You'll find out how much those places been ripping you off for a simple brake change... Minor tune up is another rip off. LOL

Actually for the S, all you need is to open one hex screw on the bottom of the caliper and you can then swing it up to change your pads(Remeber to push back your piston or the caliper wont fot over the new pads), first take off the wheel, then turn the wheel towards you and you will see a black rubber cover over the lower bolt, remove that and then use the appropriate hex key(i forgot the size) to open the screw(very easy!) swing it open chnage your pads and you're done!

What would be helpful is the torque specs on the bolts for the calipers. As for brake grease, you do want to apply some to the caliper bolts to prevent seizing and proper release.

^ thanks for that, also you dont need torque specs for the Hex screw, just tighten it and it will only go so far, its a recessed screw that will only go as far as the recessed portion.
