New Bridgestone Potenza RE760 Sport Tires

I ordered a set of these new Bridgestone Potenza RE760 Sport tires. I went with 245/45ZR-18 in the front and 255/45ZR-18 in the back. What do you guys think about the size? I wanted to go wider all around, and i was reading on the forums about various tire sizes. These are what I went with. These are going on the stock 18" sport wheels.

These tires just came out in March. Is anyone using them? They have a tread rating of 380 instead of 140, and they have a W speed rating. I used an online tire calculator and there shouldn't be any speedometer errors.

They are much cheaper than the stock tires. I paid $727 shipped for all four off tirerack.com.

I don't understand why you would want to go wider...sure, if you've added some power-adders it would be harder to gain traction...but going with wider tires isn't always a smart idea, especially when you're driving in the rain.

had a friend put some wide mustang GT wheels on his V6 mustang, spun out in the rain with brand new tires.

I was looking at these, too, for the rears.

I'd be interested to see if you have a problem with VSP. You went shorter in the front, and taller in the back.

You mean VDC? What do you mean I went shorter in the front?

you dropped from 225/50's to 45's. so your shrunk the fronts noticably.

and on the backs you stayed the same, not sure how tiger says you went taller. it's the same "45" on the back.

When I picked up snow tires they don't make a 2xx/50 in anything. so I had to go with 215/45 and those work fine, but it's noticably smaller tires. it makes the front look like it needs a drop. Visually it made the sport 19's look like 17's.

He widened the width of the tire, so the '255/45' will make the sidewall taller than 245/45. Also his fronts aren't noticeably smaller. He switched to 245/45.

I went with 225/50/18 front and 255/45/18 rears. So, the rear tires are slightly larger than front. On the stocks, the fronts were slightly larger than the rears.

Before purchasing different sizes from stock be sure to use a calculator such as this
http://www.1010tires.com/TireSizeCal...?action=submit
If you've got a diameter difference greater than 3% you may have problems.
The stock fronts are: 225/50/18 for a diameter of 681.99 mm
The rears are: 245/45/18 diameter of 677.67 mm
The new rears 255/45/18 have a diameter of 686.56
The difference is only 11.11mm so you're well under 3% difference, should be a fine choice.
I'm getting ready for a new 18" set, I'm thinking of Federal SS595s, supposed to be a killer summer tire and can be found for about $107 per tire. I'll probably just go 245/45/18s all around this time though.

I'm looking to buy these RE760Sports within a week from tirerack. However, I have a fitment question.

Will i be able to fit 235/45 F and 255/40 R with a drop and 15mm front spacer/20mm rear spacer?

Also, would I encounter any VDC/speedo issues?

Just a general comment for those interested in purchasing this. Costco can special order them (where I live at least) for a pretty good price and the standard Costco warranty. I had to ask the tech in the store because it does not show up as an option online. I forgot what price he quoted but it was pretty good , especially considering that no shipping cost is added. This is not stocked so any warranty replacment will be delayed.
