FYI went with the Goodyear F1's... got em using the live.com 30% cash back through ebay today. Saved $212, the set of four (both sizes) came out to $496 shipped. Fantastic deal for new tires.

Has anyone tried a different size on the G35 Sport? This opens up alot of potential tires to choose from and it would the speedo would only be off by about 3%. I'm wondering if this would effect the VDC? I'm concerned by the complaints of Noise from the F1's.

print out the tire rack price...take it to NTB and they will match the price and then add $15 per tire to compensate for shipping.

this way you don't have to worry about getting them delivered and taking them to the place to be installed.

or you can order them and have them delivered to where you are getting them installed.

I have not, but would love to try a 275/40/18 on the rear stock wheels. If it would squeeze on and not look dumb. A 275/40/18 is almost identical in diameter than the stock 245/45/18. VDC would not be affected.

Yes, I'm running 255/45/18 on the rear and 235/50/18 on the front (I think). The speedo difference is very small, and it a) opens up lots more tire choices, and b) gets rid of the stretched tire look on the back (not a fan...)

I ordered a set of tires from tirerack, great price, great service. I opted to get them delivered to a local NTB and have them mounted and balanced for a prenegotiated fee (something like $20/tire), all I had to do was drive in, wait a few hours to get them mounted/balanced and drive out.

Highly recommend "the rack".

What tires did you end up going with?

Like others have mentioned, Sears and NTB's policy is the charge you $15 over Tireracks price which in the end will the same price as having them delivered.

YMMV, but i managed to haggle that down as well (with Discount Tire) by showing them Tirerack's shipping quote (which comes out to $10/tire for me).

Of course, there's also the issue of tax. If you're not local to TireRack then that's extra savings over buying from a local shop. Only once have i been able to get Discount to lower their prices even further than TireRack's to compensate for the tax they were required to collect.

Well, I pulled the trigger today and got the Eagle F1 A/S's. After reading on here how difficult they are to install on here, I checked each rim and all of them had nicks in them. They were very small and quite honestly unless you bent down to look at them you would never know they were there. I brought this to the attention of the shop and the sales guy saw them and said there is no excuse for this and he would have the manager call me tomorrow. He said they may replace the rims or more than likely just have them repaired. What's involved with repair? Should I instead ask for monetary compensation?

Ditto - did exactly the same thing, negotiated with Tire Rack and bought the Assymetrics. Happy with them so far, the wet traction is insane, and dry traction is about the same as the Bridgestones.

Wheel repair places in my area charge about $100/rim for fixing structural damages. For cosmetic repairs, it varies but expect about $200 for all four. You could go the monetary route for repair, buy some paint and DIY then pocket the extra. I doubt they'll replace the wheels (OEM?) as it costs too much - especially if we're talking about cosmetics here.

That's one thing i like about the Bridgestone's, exceptional dry traction but wasn't a fan of its wet traction and wear. I just replaced my tires with some Falken's but do let us know how the Assymetrics wear!

The marks are so minute, I may not even get them repaired.
