Some of the reviews mention lower-than-average snow traction for these Falkens and a B-temp rating, so will steer clear of them. Am still tempted by tirerack's pricing on Kumho Ecsta LX platinum all-seasons, but there I am concerned about higher load index that may make the ride harsher than I'd like. Although in this thread Kumho's ride quality is not mentioned as a problem, the 19" has a lower load index than the 17". My other choice is Michelin Pilot Sport A/S but I think Kumhos are a better deal - if only I knew more about the extent to which they affect ride quality

looks like I'll be getting 20k to 25k out of the Goodyear RS-A's on my base '07 sedan.
Looking at the Yokohama S.Drive tires as likely replacements.

I went with the Falken FK 452s and I love them. They're a great tire, decent price, look good, and have a good tread wear. Now I don't do any track driving but I think I've put them to the test a few times...

I agree, but couldn't buy them because they don't make 255/45/18 Are you going to stick with the stock rear size (while presumably increasing the fronts)?

If you are talking about the RS-A's, I had a bit over 40k on them.

I'm at 18k on the RS-A's and they are really starting to have issues handling wet pavement. I will probably switch over to Yokohama Advan S4's or Pirelli PNero Zero M+S's for my next tire, maybe even before this winter so I have good traction in the snow. I have also looked at the Goodyear Eagle F1 All-Season but they don't make it in 225/55/17 (OEM) size, is there another size I could get that wouldn't compromise handling or speedometer reading?

23k stock RS-A's not as sticky on corners like they use to be but I can still get 6-7k on them.

I gave up on the RS-A's and switched over to Yokohama Advan s4's. Bought them from Discount Tire Direct's eBay store for $700 shipped ($175 per tire) and then used the Live 30% cash back promotion to get $210 off for a total cost of only $490 ($122.50 per tire). Got them installed using a TireRack preferred installer, with roadforce balancing, and they only charged me $60. Total cost of tires plus install came to $550.

It's like I'm driving a whole new car with these tires!

Like everyone else, the OEM Bridgestone RE050A didn't last long. The rears went by 20K miles and were replaced with about 1/32 of tread remaining. The fronts were replaced at 25K miles and had about 3/32 tread and a lot of shoulder wear.

I went with the Bridgestone RE760 Sports 245/45/18 on all four corners. The Potenza 760 has an improved treadwear rating of 340 compared to the RE050A's 140 treadwear. I now have the same size 18"x8.5" 50mm offset OEM sport wheels on all four corners as well. The car seems to have a little less understeer now with the wider tires on the front.

With the improved treadwear and the ability to rotate the tires every 5K miles I'm hoping for 40K mi out of these Potenza RE760 Sports.
