Shocks with lowered springs...

I had my swift springs for about 20k miles now.. And finally my shocks are going bad.. My car got lowered than before which sucks.. My front tires are getting slashed inside... I know there is coilover I can get.. But I don't really want to lose the ride quality.. When are they gonna come out with new shocks!!! I am thinking of changing back to stock spring.. But I don't want to have huge gap between the fender and tires.. Anybody who is in same situation or been there?? What did you guys do?? Time to sell my car and get something else?? HAHA.. What's thaking so long for aftermarket people to make new shocks for our cars??

It's been so long since I've experienced shock failure on a lowered car.

Tires don't normally get slashed when the shocks fail. The shocks damp out the suspension, so if they fail, I would expect the car to oscillate more. Could something have come loose?

Maybe then springs going bad?? HAHA.. I don't have no clue.. There is bumps at my apartment and before I wouldn't bottom out on those, but now I have to basically stop if I don't want to scrap.. My srpings were for coupe, so maybe car is too heavy for the springs??

If that's the case, your sedan should ride higher because it is lighter. Any pics?

Thanks.. In those pictures, you can see top of the tires, but now you don't see top of the tires at all.. There is no room to put fingers between..

Hmmm I'm thinking after 20K miles your springs should have settled by now. I'd probably consider switching them out w/ another brand. As Terry said, I doubt it's the shocks.

Wait isn't that the best look to have zero gap?

I don't really know anything about Swift springs. Could they be sagging from being overloaded? What year coupe were they made for? As a matter of fact, the gap should be increasing a little as the tread wears down.

They are swift springs for 07.. 1st Gen coupe I guess.. But I thought they weight about the same... Maybe tire slashes are coming from bad camber in the front?? Sucks..

I think you should swap out the springs, its probably the springs. Should go with some better springs like Tanabe!

I remember reading at some point in all my spring research that Swift did have a tendency to sag more often than others. Not all of them, just random, sounded like inconsistant quality. My guess is that's what is happening.

I don't know a lot about shocks...if they do start to go bad, would they sag lower? I thought they just got bouncy???
