@BLUESLATE
No HC+ yet, but we have NS and B-Spec.

I've yet to have a bad experience with my pads. What exactly happened? The only negative reviews I've heard about project mu pads is that either 1. they're pricey, or 2. they're noisy (street use on race pads)
I've had my PMU brakes (HC+) well over 1000 degrees (confirmed by pyrometer) and they've been just fine.
Was the STI driver a bit too brake happy?
Also, keep in mind that SSS pads are rated to work at higher temperatures than the NS, albiet with more noise.
Remember, right brake pad for the right brake application; the NS and B-Spec are high performance street pads.

The Akebono BBK has been in my sights lately... now that it's a bit cheaper in price.
I've also been trying to fend off the mod demons who haunt me daily. The stock brakes on my X suck.... and suck hard.
Alan, you suck too. Can't a guy just come here and read new & exciting recipies for chicken without being tempted into spending my kid's college tuition?
WTF...
