Question: TPMS compatibility from stock 17's to M45's

Anyone know if the TPMS from stock 17's are compatible with the M45's rims?

I asked the dealership about this..and they werent sure. They said they will have to look if the "monitor" is the same? In other words, they dont know.

M45's owners... what did you guys do? Or are you guys just riding on your M45's with no TPMS? If yes, did the light ever go away or its constantly there?

Thanks a mill!

Wes

Take the TPMS from your 17s and put them on the M45 rims, it will work fine.

If you don't put TPMS, your ( ! ) will never go away

So you have done this yourself and it works? Oh yeah, I have the 08 M45's; Im assuming its just the same? Im planning on doing this at a local shop not at the dealers.

Also, since its the same TPMS, I dont have to get it recalibrated/programmed correct?

Thanks.

I've done it, not specifically on 08 M45 rims, but I've taken my TPMS from my stocks and put them on a different set and it worked fine and no, you won't have to get them reprogrammed.

you will be fine Wes. the PITA thing is that you have to unmount the tire first to get access to the TPMS as they are a part of our valve stems

Silly Wes...
Just transfer your TPMS along with the valve stem to the M45's and it'll be fine just like everyone else said.

Stop posting new threads here and go finish your damn interior already

denisshot - niceeee! your rims are ballerrrrrrrrrrrr. I remember seeing that thread now; with those 350z rims.

G35xQX1 - lol thanks. So thats how the TPMS attaches.. to the valve stem.. I actually didnt know where it attaches lol I guess my stock 17's wont have valve stems... or I guess I can put the rubber ones on the M45's on the stockers.

Borna - I will!! lol this weekend, im gonna try and get all the doors done! but it takes so much time! takes like.. 2-2.5 hrs per door! :S

Jeez guys! lol I cant even ask a simple question completely unrelated without CF, a drop or paddles getting into the convo! lol

U guys sound like AesonVirus... lol
