I have owned Nissan and Infiniti cars for a while now. Im a hard driver and go through alot of stop and go traffic as well as hard braking. The OEM rotos suck for the 07 G35 cars. Which would be a good rotor to replace the oems with? Im looking into cross drilled rotors but dont know which ones are good. I hear from ppl that some have problems of cracking and stuff. Which rotors and brake pads would work great with a 07 G35 sedan?

I always wanted to get the slotted cross drilled rotors, I thought they looked really good. That was until I found out they couldn't be simply turned at my local auto parts store. If your having trouble with your rotors take a look at the brake pads your using. Keep in mind that the rotors and pads have to work together. Sure warped rotors can be caused by a variety of things, excessive heat, bad wheel bearings, bad suspension, improperly torqued lug nuts, or even a warped brake pad.

I think in this specific scenario, in light of numerous G owners complaining about the stock rotors, I would think that the problem is with the rotors.

I had my rotors resurfaced at 35,000km; all 4 of them :S

I dont consider myself a "hard" driver. But there you go. My rotors had to be turned quite early. I told myself I definately dont want stock rotors again when my rotors have to replaced.

I might as well try something new and something I like.

Also when I brake, I often hear squeeking now. I had the dealership look at it. I thought my brake pads were going. It wasnt. they said it was the moisture on the rotors thats causing the squeeking. In other words, its the rust on my rotors as a result of the resurfacing and the weather.

So yes.. I definately dont want stock rotors *thumbs down*

I got all my brake pads replaced and rotors resurfaced by the dealership. Still the same problem. I live in las vegas and it gets really hot around summer. Has neone tried the rotors from racingbrake.com? COuld u let us know how are they when u try them wes_888?

I certainly will give an update when I have them on but I dont have a date yet when I plan on installing them. But I will look to purchase them in September. Then when my brakes and rotors go, they are ready to be installed.

Intgr8r was actually the one who recommended this company. He had em on his Z4 and he was pleased with them.

On a side note, can these drilled/slotted rotors be resurfaced if need be? Also, how many km did you guys get out of it?

Slotted,drilled is mostly for show though - they don't really do much to help peformance anymore. I've heard on many occasions that the materials in modern brakes don't have the gassing issues they once did that would be helped by a drilled pattern.

Personally, my OEM rotors have been great. Granted, I'm on my second set of pads I was told the rotors look great - and I'm very hard on my brakes (cough*HPDEs*cough).

maybe a stupid question, but are these aftermarket rotors prone to the same rusting as the stock ones?

By the way, your old G looked hot, those seats look awesome (were those stock?)

These rotors are treated with anti rust properties... Im sure that helps.

Maybe Ian can talk about his experience with the racing brake rotors... if he saw any rust.
