tire sizes for stock 18" G35S

So I've seen alot of different posts with suggestions for tire sizes for the G35S 18" rims. I've not yet seen a good run down of the pros/cons of the various sizes. I'm going to try to go through them and wanted to see what people think (I'm down to 4/32 and 3/32nds on my original RE050As and will need new tires next spring. I should last a couple of more months before it's snow tire time for this season).

So the stock size 225/50/18F 245/45/18R:
pros: original size
cons: barely any tires available, especially summer performance pretty much only the yoko advan sport and the re050a

wider front only: 235/50/18F 245/45/18R
pros: more tire options, (in what situations do wider front tires provide any real gain?)
cons: here's where i need help. The front tires are currently .7% larger than the rear tires. 235 puts it at 2.1% larger. How big of a deal is this? What are the negative ramifications of this size?

wider front and rear: 235/50/18F 255/45/18R
pros: more tire options, more rear traction, (wider front tires? once again, i don't understand if this is a pro or a neutral) .8% larger front tire, so really close to the .7% of OEM size
cons: larger tires on drive wheels (1.3% larger) will throw speedo off. (are there any other cons)

Otherwise, I'm well aware that the tire width and the traction it provides is entirely depending on driving style at this point (well the tire itself makes a difference, but the primary issue is going to be driving style and driver's ability).

But are there any other common sizes for the standard 18" rims that I'm missing that are commonly used? Does anyone have any real comments on the pros/cons?

I'm considering 235f/255r just because it keeps the front and rear tires closer in size, but any other thoughts as to why one would choose one of the sizes of the other? I'm definitely trying to see if I can find something that lasts a little longer than the RE050As but that's not a huge deal since nearly 3 years out of a set isn't too bad (of course half of that time was on snow tires).

Otherwise, any one have any experience with the yoko ADVAN sport that's available in OEM sizes?

I'm in a similar situation Dopey although I am looking for High Performance All Seasons. From what I have read most people go 235f/255r or they find another pair of rear rims, put them up front, and run 245/45s all the way around. I haven't heard of many people running a 235/245 setup.

I was going to put 235f/255r Pilot A/S+ on in a couple weeks but I was just at my dealer a couple of days ago and he said that if I changed the size at all it would impact my VDC and ABS. I don't think that small of a change would impact anything but that was what the dealer was trying to tell me.

I'm also interested to hear people that have been running 235/255's and if they have run into any issues. I have seen pretty positive feedback on the board so far. Just curious before I drop $1000 on tires.

G35Now! proposed 235 fronts and keeping the 245 rears, which seems to put the front/rear ratio at an amount that I'm not entirely comfortable with, but maybe it's fine.

The VDC/ABS is sorta the problem I'm wondering about. Reading posts on here and on 350z forums, there doesn't seem to be any consensus. Some are claiming that just larger tires and/or not staggering the tires is enough to case problems, others are claiming that it's the difference between front and rear sizes that matter (i.e. no more than 3% difference between the two, which the 235/245 combination fits into) but I can't seem to find any post that actually has reached consensus on this. I was hoping to try to get that here with this thread.

I'm primarily concerned because right now my car is in the shop because the VDC Off/SLIP light keep on going on and staying on and they're trying to figure out why, and I'm still on stock tires.
